New challenge for Stefanie Hertel: The pop singer will soon be on the “Mamma Mia!” musical stage.

Stefanie Hertel (43) becomes a musical actress. From the beginning of April, the singer is in “Mamma Mia!” to see and hear. On selected evenings, she slips into the role of Tanja, one of the three singers of “Donna und die Dynamos” at Hamburg’s Stage Theater Neue Flora.

With this commitment, a long-cherished dream has come true for Hertel. “‘Mamma Mia!’ is the ultimate for me,” says the self-proclaimed “biggest ABBA fan”. The singer discovered her love for the Swedish pop group as a child through her mother’s record collection. When she was ten or eleven, she was particularly enthusiastic about the song “Thank You for the Music”.

Stefanie Hertel is “the biggest fan of the musical”

The singer convinced herself of how her favorite song sounds in the German version at the German premiere of the musical. “On ‘Mamma Mia!’ I feel like I need to watch it over and over again,” explains Hertel. She was “really the biggest fan of this musical”. Her joy at being a part of it is correspondingly great.

Stefanie Hertel will make her debut on April 7th at 8:00 p.m. Tickets for the first shows with her are already available.

That’s what Mamma Mia is about!

“Mamma Mia!” is about Donna, who lives with her daughter Sophie on a Greek island and runs a tavern. In her mother’s diary, Sophie discovers that she has three possible fathers. This uncertainty should end before she marries her childhood sweetheart Sky. Sophie invites the potential fathers to the wedding ceremony and the guesswork begins. Donna’s best friends from the old days, Tanja and Rosie, are also part of the wedding party and bring back memories of their times as the singing trio “Donna and the Dynamos”.

The hits of the Swedish cult band ABBA underscore the plot.
