Steel producer ArcelorMittal: A check for the future – Economy

At 2:09 p.m. a cheer goes through the hall, which is not just good for Robert Habeck. The employees of the ArcelorMittal steelworks have gathered in a large room here in Bremen, some have been waiting for over half an hour, they are wearing their work jackets in signal colors. The expected volume at this extraordinary company meeting was too large for chairs; today there is only standing room. So 2:09 p.m., Federal Economics Minister Habeck doesn’t mince words, hundreds of eyes are on him: “Everything has been clarified,” he says, “we’re through.” The staff had been longing for these words for many months – and also for the enthusiasm that is now in the room.
