Statutory health insurance chief warns: Anyone who has not been vaccinated will become infected in winter

The corona incidence in Germany is rising and rising – and winter has not even begun. Andreas Gassen, head of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, therefore issued an urgent warning.
According to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV), Andreas Gassen, almost all non-vaccinated people will be infected with Corona in autumn and winter. “We will see that in the next few months everyone who is not vaccinated will most likely become infected,” said Gassen on Sunday evening the station “Bild TV”.
Measures other than vaccination would not protect against the coronavirus. “It is a deceptive security when people think that because they are not going to the carnival or are still wearing a mask in the subway, they are protected from being infected with corona,” said Gassen.
Gassen: 30 percent not yet vaccinated against Corona
“We will only have peace in the sense of an epidemic situation when the majority of the population has actually been vaccinated or recovered,” said the KBV boss. Gassen gave the quota of non-vaccinated persons at 30 percent.
Like Gassen, SPD health politician Karl Lauterbach had already acted in the “Rheinische Post” expressed: “It is clear, however, that most of the unvaccinated from today until then (the planned end of the pandemic situation on March 21, 2022, d. Red.) have either been vaccinated, recovered or, unfortunately, have died, because the infection process with severe courses mainly affects those who refuse to be vaccinated. “
The nationwide seven-day incidence of new corona infections has reached the highest value since the beginning of the pandemic. As the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) announced on Monday morning, citing data from the health authorities, the value increased to 201.1. The value had its highest level to date on December 22, 2020 at 197.6. At that time, however, far fewer people in Germany were vaccinated.
