ESC live ticker: This is how Isaak Guderian from OWL fares in the final

Malmo. This year the German participant comes from Ostwestfalen-Lippe for only the second time in the 68-year history of the Eurovision Song Contest. Singer Isaak Guderian from Espelkamp in the Minden-Lübbecke district competed in the final on Saturday evening with his self-written song “Always on the Run”. We accompany the Week of East Westphalia in Malmö.

The essentials in brief:

  • The ESC will take place from May 6th to 11th in Malmö, Sweden. Today’s finale started at 9 p.m.
  • Since the two preliminary finals it has been clear which countries Espelkamp’s Isaak Guderian will have to compete against for Germany. He was the third artist on stage.
  • The Dutch candidate Joost Klein was excluded from the final on Saturday – due to an as yet unspecified “incident”. Accordingly, Isaac competes against 24 countries.
  • In Malmö, thousands have been demonstrating against the performance of Israeli Eden Golan for days, including on Saturday evening. They justify this with Israel’s actions in the Gaza war. While performing her song “Hurricane,” Golan had to endure whistles and loud boos. But there was also clear cheering for her performance.
