Queen Letizia and Queen Máxima turned the royal meeting on Dam Square in Amsterdam into a stylish fashion moment.

Royal contingent in the Netherlands: King Felipe VI. (56) and Queen Letizia (51) of Spain have arrived in Amsterdam for the state visit announced in February, where they were met on Wednesday by King Willem-Alexander (56) and Queen Máxima (52) was welcomed with a ceremony on Dam Square.

After a guard of honor march, the Royal Marine Band performed both the Spanish and Dutch national anthems. The royal quartet then posed for photographers and visitors in a blue pavilion with a slight elevation an Instagram video on Máxima and Willem-Alexander’s account.

Máxima and Letizia create a colorful fashion moment in Amsterdam

With their dresses, Máxima and Letizia were undoubtedly the eye-catchers on Dam Square in Amsterdam. The Spanish queen slipped into a turquoise sheath dress with batwing sleeves and a waist belt for the state visit. She also chose her handbag with handle in turquoise. Letizia’s fascinator and pumps, however, were beige.

Styling queen Máxima appeared in an elegant ensemble consisting of a midi skirt and blouse in a berry red tone. She also chose gloves, handbag, pumps and XXL hat in the same color. Máxima’s silver insect brooch and matching earrings were also particularly eye-catching. The Dutch queen is currently regularly using animal accessories.

Felipe and Willem-Alexander came in a color-coordinated partner look. Both wore royal blue suits combined with a white shirt and light blue tie.

Visit ends with state banquet on Wednesday

The Dutch royal family announced in February that King Felipe VI. and his wife Letizia have been invited to Amsterdam for a state visit from April 17th to 18th. There will be a state banquet at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam on Wednesday, where Willem-Alexander and Felipe will give a speech. Princess Amalia (20) will also take part in the gala. It will be the first state banquet for the heir to the Dutch throne.
