Thunderstorms and hail as constant companions? The start of summer on Lake Starnberg was accompanied by extreme storms and heavy rainfall has been announced for the coming days. Physicist Christian Plaß-Dülmer, 60, researches the weather together with 50 scientists in the world’s oldest mountain observatory on the Hohenpeißenberg. The head of the control room knows how the extreme weather conditions in the foothills of the Alps come about and why they are likely to increase in the coming years.
