Star Wars Jedi Survivor patch is finally coming and fixing annoying graphics issue on PS5

A new patch for Jedi Survivor will be rolled out to consoles and PC later today.

With Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, developer Respawn has released an excellent AAA blockbuster for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, which, like so many games lately, suffers from some serious technical defects at the time of release. The good news is that publisher EA has already promised a timely improvement, the bad news: Patch 1.03 could not keep the promise.

A new try: Hopes are therefore resting on further updates, one of which will be released this Tuesday and will (hopefully) fix the HDR problem on PS5 for many.

Fix to HDR issue announced on PS5

The HDR feature is currently buggy on many PS5 and colors are not displayed correctly. Means in detail that no gradations are displayed between light and dark image areas (see image below).

However, according to EA, a fix in the upcoming patch should remedy the situation. So it says in the patch notes, which we list below in the article:

  • Fixed a mismatch in HDR values causing HDR setups to not display correctly for PS5 users.

No performance improvements in the patch

A big problem for many people is the heavily fluctuating frame rate in Jedi Survivor’s performance mode (target frame rate: 60 fps), which, in contrast to the significantly better quality mode (target frame rate: 30 fps), even depends on the TV setup or personal perception can lead to nausea. However, the patch will not remedy this shortcoming.

Other unsightly technical conditions such as screen tearing and the low resolution for a current-gen game will not be fixed in the upcoming patch either. If you want to know more about the technical condition of the action-adventure and the game in general, this way:
