“The Acolyte” creator Leslye Headland teases excitement for her upcoming “Star Wars” series in a new interview.

The eagerly awaited next one starts on June 5th “Star Wars” series “The Acolyte” in Germany on Disney+. The streaming series, for which “Matryoshka” co-series creator Leslye Headland (44) is responsible, takes place around 100 years before the events of “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace”. The Jedi master Sol, played by “Squid Game” star Lee Jung-jae (51), investigates a mysterious series of crimes in the sci-fi show and comes across frightening secrets.

Aside from this information, not much is known about “The Acolyte” yet. But in an interview with “Total Film”, series creator Headland revealed further details about the upcoming series project.

“‘The Acolyte’ is a mystery. It’s similar to the series ‘Matryoshka,’ which was ultimately about giving the audience information, episode by episode, this spiral narrative,” says Headland According to Games Rader in the new issue of “Total Film”, which will be released on April 25th.

The new “Star Wars” series will therefore be about the idea that “your eyes can deceive you,” as Headland explains. The series would first make viewers think it was “one thing” only to turn out to be something completely different.

The cast of the new “Star Wars” series has been officially confirmed for a long time. In addition to the South Korean actor Lee, known from “Squid Game”, there will also be “Matrix” star Carrie-Anne Moss (56) and the young actress Amandla Stenberg (25), who became known for “The Hate U Give” and “Bodies Bodies Bodies”. ) take on significant roles.

Series creator Headland also promises “Star Wars” fans allusions to different eras of the Star Wars saga. “It’s a series that has everything I wanted to explore: I wanted to include Expanded Universe stuff, nods to the Original Trilogy, The Phantom Menace, the Disney sequel trilogy… it’s absolutely packed,” said Headland.
