Standing Vaccination Committee: Corona vaccination recommended for small children with previous illnesses

The Standing Vaccination Committee has recommended the corona vaccination for small children with previous illnesses. This applies to children aged six months to four years who have an increased risk of a severe course of Covid 19 due to “underlying diseases”.

BioNTech/Pfizer’s Comirnaty children’s vaccine should preferably be used for vaccination – alternatively, Moderna’s Spikevax children’s vaccine can be used. However, this is currently not available in Germany in the dosage prescribed for small children, it said in a statement.
