Place du Capitole was black – and red – with people this Sunday afternoon. The people of Toulouse were gathered to celebrate this 22nd victory at the Top14 with the players returning from Paris with an exceptional victory.
Thousands of fans gave the weekend champions a standing ovation. In a fiery atmosphere in Toulouse, Captain Antoine Dupont and his entire team brought the Shield of Brennus back to the Pink City. This is the 22nd time that this much disputed Shield has been handed over to Toulouse. Still an incredible moment for the supporters: “I was there the last three times we won and I still can’t get enough of this happiness”, shouts Melissa in the heart of a noisy and motivated crowd.
In good humor and celebration, supporters, rugby lovers and athletes took advantage of this victorious weekend. “We are very happy to have won, to return to Toulouse, especially with an audience like here”, testifies Thomas Ramos who savors the moment with his whole team.
Now it’s time for a well-deserved vacation for these French champions.
