Ssupd has introduced a new housing. The Meshroom S follows in the footsteps of the very airy case Meshlicious. Unlike this Mini-ITX model, however, the Meshroom S can accommodate a maximum of ATX mainboards. Nevertheless, it should remain remarkably compact.
Ssupd is a sister brand of Lian Li – and has been known for cases with a particularly high proportion of mesh since the Meshlicious. The Meshroom S follows in these footsteps. In general, a small series of mesh room cases is planned. In addition to the Meshroom S with a volume of 14.93 L, there will be a Meshroom D with a slightly larger volume of 14.97 L in the future. However, Ssupd is still silent about other differences between the two models.
So let’s focus on the Meshroom S: Ssupd describes it as a “masterpiece of engineering”. Despite the very manageable dimensions of 16.7 x 36.2 x 24.7 cm (W x H x D) and a weight of 3.2 kg, it can accommodate full-fledged ATX mainboards and an ATX power supply and is also said to be very flexible . The mainboard and graphics card are housed separately inside the case and connected to each other with a riser cable. The maximum height of the CPU cooler is clearly limited by this design – to 7.3 cm with a 3-slot graphics card and 5.3 cm with a 4-slot graphics card. Depending on the configuration, Ssupd specifies a whole range of values for the maximum graphics card length: they range from 21.1 to 34.6 cm.
If you rely on water cooling, you can use three mounting positions for pumps in the Meshroom S and place a maximum of one 280 mm radiator on the front and one 240 mm radiator on the right side. However, the radiator slots are just as dependent on the graphics card used as are the fan slots. 25 mm thick fans on the right can only be used up to a 1.9 slot graphics card (39 mm). Up to a 2.4-slot graphics card (49 mm), 15 mm thick fans are still possible. With a long graphics card, the Ssupd case offers space for three 2.5-inch drives. On the other hand, if you are satisfied with a short SFF graphics card, you can even accommodate up to seven 2.5-inch drives. In principle, two 3.5-inch drives are also possible – but only in combination with an SFF graphics card.
The outside of the housing can be removed without tools. The I/O panel in the lid offers two USB 3.0 and one USB-C, but no audio jacks. As with the Meshlicious, there are no separate dust filters. The mesh itself has at least a rough filter effect.
The Meshroom S can be pre-ordered now. With PCIe 4.0 riser cable, it costs $159.99. Without the riser cable, it’s significantly cheaper at $109.99. According to the press release, the mesh housing is available in Fossil Gray, Sage Green and Peacock Blue. The product page and product images also show a classic black color variant (Charcoal Black).
