It’s a strange group of patients that Dr. Andreas Wagner has been busy for some time: she ends up with him, the head of pulmonology at the Allgäu Specialist Clinic in Pfronten, even though she doesn’t have lung disease. At the same time, their level of suffering is high. There is no “patent solution”, especially since it is not completely clear what causes symptoms such as shortness of breath, lack of concentration or chronic exhaustion after a CoVid infection. Thanks to the clinic’s experience with the chronic lung disease COPD, which is usually caused by smoking, Wagner and his team know what helps with shortness of breath and improves physical condition. At the same time, there are psychologists at the clinic, which also has a psychosomatic department. In addition to the poor ability to concentrate, the environment creates problems for the patients. If you can’t find anything organically, you should just pull yourself together, they say. The discussion groups are very helpful in knowing that others feel the same way.
