SPD leader Lars Klingbeil has sharply criticized the recent dispute in the cabinet of the traffic light coalition. The task of the government is to provide security, stability and orientation in the current situation. “I actually thought that everyone understood that,” said Klingbeil on Thursday. “I was very stunned that the argument continued immediately,” added Klingbeil, alluding to the heating dispute before the summer break.
He expects the government to come to an agreement at the cabinet meeting in Meseberg at the end of the month. You need both economic aid and basic child security, which is not a contradiction. The SPD leader demanded that the government in Meseberg also talk about the form of cooperation in traffic lights.
On Wednesday, Family Minister Lisa Paus (Greens) blocked the law on tax breaks for companies in the cabinet and called for more funds for basic child security. The corresponding draft law is ready from your side, Paus said to various media. The draft is “in the meantime in project clearing and is available to the Federal Chancellery and the Federal Ministry of Finance,” said the Green politician to the news portal The Pioneer. “As requested by the chancellor, I presented different variants.”
With the basic child security, Paus wants to combine benefits for families and increase them at the same time. The FDP is critical of performance improvements. Against this background, Paus opposed the so-called Growth Opportunities Act of Federal Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP). This is a legislative package with tax policy measures intended to relieve the economy by around 6.5 billion euros a year.
