Recall at Edeka and Netto: Two bread roll products are affected by a recall. According to the manufacturer, customers can get their money back.
Bleicherode – A recall is currently affecting bread rolls at Edeka and Netto Marken-Discount. Possible wood splinters in the baked goods could pose a significant health risk. The manufacturer strongly advises against consuming the affected products.
Panem Backstube GmbH informs about the recall of two bread roll products: “GUT&GÜNSTIG mixed bread rolls for ready-to-bake” and “Kornmühle mixed bread rolls for ready-to-bake”. Both items are available in 540g packs and all affect best-before dates up to and including May 30, 2024.
Health risk with Edeka and Netto products: Sales outlets and affected regions
Edeka and Netto Marken-Discount reacted immediately and took the affected goods off the market. Customers who have already bought the rolls should not consume them under any circumstances. The products can be returned to the stores. The purchase price will be refunded even without presenting the receipt, according to the Recall letter from the manufacturer.
According to the company, there is a possibility that there could be foreign bodies made of wood in the rolls. These could cause internal injuries and bleeding when consumed. For this reason, consumers should not eat the affected products under any circumstances.

According to the manufacturer’s recall notice, the “GUT&GÜNSTIG mixed rolls for ready-to-bake” were sold in large parts of Germany, mainly at Edeka and Marktkauf. The regions of Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Hamburg, Bremen, Berlin, Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Lower Saxony and neighboring parts of North Rhine-Westphalia were excluded.

The product “Kornmühle mixed rolls for ready-to-bake” was sold nationwide at Netto Marken-Discount, the manufacturer stated in its press release.

Other products from Panem Backstube GmbH as well as rolls with a best-before date after May 30, 2024 are not affected by this recall. The recall only applies to the items and best-before dates mentioned.
