Spanish biker Carles Falcon was in “serious condition” on Sunday after a fall on the second stage of the Dakar 2024 between Al-Henakiyah and Al-Duwadimi. “At kilometer 448 of today’s special [dimanche] at 3:52 p.m., Spanish motorcycle rider Carles Falcon [n°135] suffered a fall,” announced Amaury Sport Organization (ASO) in a press release published late Sunday afternoon.
“Immediately informed by a pilot who was following him, the organization dispatched a medical helicopter which took care of the injured motorcyclist in a condition considered serious. He was airlifted to Al-Duwadimi hospital,” ASO said, adding that a full assessment would be communicated “in the coming hours”.
The Spaniard from the “Twintrail Racing Team” ranked 76th in the first stage on Saturday between Al-Ula and Al-Henakiyah aboard his KTM.
