The line-up is gigantic: Countless musicians will be performing together in Berlin next Sunday to show their solidarity with Ukraine and send a signal for peace.

They can no longer and do not want to remain silent: Like most people in this country, the Russian invasion of Ukraine is also viewed with great concern in the cultural sector. In order to take a stand against the war and at the same time to express solidarity with the Ukrainian people, artists have joined forces to form the “Sound of Peace” initiative.

Next Sunday, March 20, they invite you to a musical peace rally at the Brandenburg Gate. From 12 noon, music stars such as Silbermond, Peter Maffay, Bela B, Pur, Zoe Wees and Michael Patrick Kelly will appear to “set a sign for peace from the heart of Berlin”, as the organizers put it. The central message is: end the war!

Artists have no way of influencing Putin through diplomacy, economic sanctions or even militarily. But they have their own means: “Music manages to unite people universally and build bridges like hardly any other medium,” says the appeal. One wants to set a “strong and conspicuous symbol for peace, human rights and democracy”.

At the same time, they declare full solidarity with the Ukrainians in the war zones and on the run. In order to provide them with direct help, the organizers are calling for donations.

“Sound of Peace”: These artists have already confirmed

The selection of artists is really huge and covers a wide range of music genres. In addition to the musicians already mentioned, Bosse, Cassandra Steen, Curse, Die Höchste Eisenbahn, Enno Bunger, Fatoni, Fortuna Ehrenfeld, Gentleman, Henning Wehland, Joris, Judith Holofernes, Laith Al Deen, Mia, Moses Pelham, Philipp Poisel, Revolverheld have also confirmed , Sebastian Krumbiegel, Sportfreunde Stiller, Teesy and Wanda – just to name a few of the stars.

And more artists are still joining. No matter how many there will be in the end, one thing is already clear: this coming Sunday will be a very special event.

The big “Sound of Peace” concert will take place on Sunday, March 20th, starting at 12 noon on Straße des 17. Juni in front of the Brandenburg Gate. More information about the event at sound-of-peace.com
