All you have to do is give Hubert Aiwanger a quick nudge, keyword solar energy, and he starts raving. On Tuesday after the cabinet meeting, the economics minister spoke of the “number one photovoltaic country” and of course he meant Bavaria. But is Bavaria really doing enough with solar energy? Couldn’t the energy crisis caused by the war in Ukraine be a reason to introduce a solar obligation for all new buildings? Oh, says Aiwanger, “I believe that photovoltaics is now so attractive that it can also work without being compulsory.”
