The starting shot for Diablo 4, which took place in the night from June 1st to June 2nd, has so far been surprisingly smooth and smooth, at least in the course of the first wave of pre-orders for the more expensive Deluxe and Ultimate editions. Major problems, such as the infamous Error 37, which brought it to lesser fame when Diablo 3 was released and is now a meme, and long queues, have not been reported to the release so far.
Release surprises players and observers
Even if the regular starting signal on June 6th is likely to pose a completely different challenge for the server landscape, the pre-release that took place on June 2nd at 1 a.m. can be seen as a success for Blizzard so far. Quite a few players and observers had prepared themselves for the worst in advance and expected long queues and possible server interruptions. But no, the early access of Diablo 4 has so far been less conspicuous than was expected or feared in many places.
Players and streamers are satisfied
As a look at the international voices of players, streamers and observers confirms, the experiences with the release and the previous preload have been consistently very positive. In a direct comparison to the previously held beta weekends, Blizzard was once again able to significantly increase the performance of its action RPG and the stability of its servers.

Apart from a few smaller lags, players had little to complain about in Diablo 4 at the start of the pre-release, an impression that the author of this report can fully confirm. Both the preload and the first login to Diablo 4 ran without any problems worth mentioning.
DiabloIV launch for me was perfectly smooth. A few lag spikes but otherwise no troubles.

Player feedback has been very positive on both PC and current-gen PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S gaming consoles.
$90 Bucks Well Spent! This is the first time in a very long time that a Launch feels mostly smooth and the game seems polished and complete level 14 Druid on Series X and haven’t had a single problem.

A personal preliminary report from Hell, which the author Jusuf Hatic, who had also tested Diablo 4, published in advance, reads very positively and gives hope for a successful regular start of the game on June 6th.
The performance is also right and leaves little room for criticism. The author of this message was able to enjoy the pre-release game with a Geforce RTX 3090 in 4K with maximum details and high-resolution textures with a fixed 117 frames per second on the 48-inch LG OLED. DLSS 2.x with the preset “Quality” was used for this. The previously critical reload times within areas have also been further reduced.
Not perfect yet, but already very good
Of course, Diablo 4 doesn’t run perfectly in all situations and the reloading times within areas or when changing locations could be even shorter, but the action role-playing game already makes a very good impression and doesn’t provide any great arguments for criticism, especially technically. Players can therefore be relatively positive about the regular start on June 6th. The PCGH editorial team says…
