Ronnie O’Sullivan is the face of snooker. He is the favorite at the World Cup. But if he doesn’t win the title in Sheffield, he is threatened with a slight fall in the rankings.
Ronnie O’Sullivan threatens in the event of failure at the Snooker World Cup also saw a fall in the world rankings. The 48-year-old, who has led the rankings for over two years, will have his prize money deducted for the 2022 World Cup title after this year’s title fights in Sheffield (April 20 to May 6). O’Sullivan is the top favorite at the Crucible Theater. With his eighth title he would surpass Scotland’s Stephen Hendry. “He doesn’t talk about it and always acts as if he doesn’t care. For him, O’Sullivan is “a personality who is definitely polarizing.”
Just this week, O’Sullivan caused a stir again. The Englishman demanded that the World Cup no longer be held in the Crucible Theater in the future. “I think Saudi Arabia would be great. They have the resources and would do it great. If you want to give it to China, you would have to take it to Shanghai. Or another big city like Shenzhen or Guangzhou,” O’Sullivan said the tabloid “The Sun”.
