Smart home hub DIRIGERA listed on the IKEA website › ifun.de

The new smart home hub from IKEA is not scheduled to go on sale until next month, so the fact that IKEA already has one comes as a surprise Product page for the DIRIGERA hub set up. In connection with this, the official sales price for Germany is now also fixed. The DIRIGERA hub will be available for EUR 59.99 on the IKEA website and in the chain’s furniture stores.

We already talked about that last month reportedthat the market launch of the TRADFRI Hub successor is being postponed. As IKEA Germany has informed us, a market launch together with a new version of the IKEA smart home app is planned for the end of November. The reason for the delay was the opportunity to use the additional development time to ensure even greater and better functionality.

The introduction of Matter is also a long time coming

Last but not least, the still pending start of the smart home standard Matter could be at least partially decisive for the postponement. The DIRIGERA hub should also be able to communicate with smart home products from other manufacturers via Matter. Like its TRADFRI predecessor, the hub also ensures the connection to Apple Home and thus the possibility of controlling and automating smart IKEA accessories such as lamps or blinds via Siri or the HomeKit app from Apple.

The fact that the DIRIGERA hub is now officially listed on the German IKEA website with item number (105.034.06) can at least be taken as the final confirmation that the new smart home center will indeed be here in the next few weeks will be available. We don’t think it’s out of the question that IKEA, as has often happened in the past, will strive for a “soft rollout” and offer the device locally via individual branches before it’s available online.

Thank you Dirk
