Ski jumper Katharina Schmid was recently pleased with her first podium finish of the season. At the World Cup in Slovenia, a few meters are missing. An Austrian woman is cheering.

The German ski jumpers around Katharina Schmid took part in the World Cup in Ljubno, Slovenia cannot intervene in the fight for the podium places.

The 27-year-old from Oberstdorf ended up in tenth place as the best German with jumps of 86 and 83.5 meters. The victory went to Eva Pinkelnig. The 35-year-old Austrian jumped 91 and 90.5 meters on the normal hill and clearly distanced herself from the competition. Nika Prevc (Slovenia) and Alexandria Loutitt (Canada) completed the podium.

Two weeks ago, Schmid celebrated her first podium finish of the season in Sapporo, Japan. She finished third in qualifying on Friday. Although she still had a chance on the podium after the first round, the currently best German jumper fell back four places. Anna Rupprecht (12th), Selina Freitag (18th), Juliane Seyfarth (19th) and Luisa Görlich (26th) also scored World Cup points. On Sunday (11 a.m.) there is another singles event in Ljubno.
