Marius Lindvik collected a total of 854.2 points on both days and won with 9.9 points in front of the Slovenian Timi Zajc, who pushed past Stefan Kraft (837.5) in the last round.
Defending champion Karl Geiger was only 13th after a disappointing first day. With jumps of 234.5 and 220.5 meters, the man from Oberstdorf was able to gain another five places on Saturday (769.2). At the same time he gained self-confidence for the team competition on Sunday.
“It was great fun today,” said Geiger on “ARD” and said, looking ahead to Sunday: “We really want to know.”

Eisenbichler: “Wasn’t what I can do”
With Andreas Wellinger (14th), another DSV-Adler flew into the top 15. Constantin Schmid (17th) and Markus Eisenbichler (18th) ensured a solid team result. “It just wasn’t what I can do in ski flying. But life goes on,” said “Eisei”.
“We had an uncatchable deficit, so we can be very satisfied today,” said national coach Stefan Horngacher after a flight in which the really big distances were missing.
But the top favorites for gold in the team on Sunday are the Slovenians, who presented themselves very well in the individual competition. With silver medalist Zajc, Peter Prevc (4th), Anze Lanisek (5th) and Domen Prevc (6th), all four Slovenians made it into the top six.
