Six months in prison for resorting to prostitution of minors for former Ligue 1 player

Professional footballer Sidy Sarr was sentenced to six months in prison and a fine of 30,000 euros by the Nîmes criminal court. Currently without a club, Senegalese international Sidy Sarr (6 caps), was playing for Nîmes Olympique at the time of the incident. A club with which he played 48 matches between 2019 and 2022, including 18 in Ligue 1. He left Gard in 2022 to join the Portuguese club Chaves.

He was found guilty of using two minor prostitutes, aged 16 and 17 at the time of the events. The former midfielder did not appear at the hearing and was not represented by a lawyer. But he had previously admitted the facts during his custody as well as during the investigation.

Another young woman, presented as the matchmaker by the prosecution, aged 21 (19 at the time of the events) was released. She was prosecuted for aggravated pimping of minors.
