He has already received an award in France, and now the makers of “Corsage” are looking to the USA.

Austria nominated the historical film “Corsage”, which was successful in Cannes, for the foreign Oscar 2023. In it, filmmaker Marie Kreutzer showed Empress Elisabeth as a woman “who has rough edges,” it said on Tuesday in the justification of the film and music industry association. Vicky Krieps (series “Das Boot”) was awarded an acting prize in the category “Un Certain Regard” for her portrayal of 40-year-old Sisi at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

The Academy Awards Best International Film shortlist will be published on December 21. The final nominations follow on January 24 before the awards known as the Oscars are presented in Hollywood on March 12. “Corsage” is also in the feature film preselection for this year’s European Film Awards, which will be presented in December.
