Singer Clueso is emotionally touched by the events in Ukraine. This also has an influence on his songs.
For singer-songwriter Clueso, Russia’s war against Ukraine sharpened his perspective on political realities.
“Today, the peace flag is no longer enough. That’s not enough for me, »said the 42-year-old of the German Press Agency in Dresden. He was emotionally touched by what happened. “Stop Putin” is the only message for him these days, although Putin should not be equated with Russia. “The songs I write are a little darker now.” But he feels the same problem as many other artists. “Writing accomplished political songs is very difficult.”
Clueso says that he himself took in a mother who had fled Ukraine with her children in his Erfurt apartment. “I’m trying to make life easier for them and distract them a little.” They all fear that the family will be able to see their father again, who has stayed in Ukraine.
