After surviving cancer, singer Nicole is going on tour again. Above all, she is looking forward to seeing her fans again. Why does she feel stronger now than she used to?

singer After winning the fight against breast cancer, Nicole changed many things in her life. “I live much more intensively and much more consciously,” she told the German Press Agency at her place of residence in Nohfelden, Saarland.

“You can feel what is important and what is irrelevant.” And she feels strong. “I emerged stronger from this illness, stronger than ever. From the will, from the head, from the soul,” she said before the start of her “I’m back” tour this Friday in Bad Orb, Hesse.

It’s going to be “very emotional”

Above all, she looks forward to her fans. It’s a great feeling “to be back and to see the many faces that you already know in places”. It will certainly be “very emotional,” said Nicole, who won the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) for Germany in 1982 with the song “A Little Peace.” A total of 25 concerts are planned by mid-December, including in Lübeck, Cottbus, Rheine, Berlin and Magdeburg.

“I’m fine today,” said the Saarlander. “I am grateful that the good Lord has given me a second life.” She enjoys every day today, she treats herself more. She invites friends over, laughs more, lives lighter. “It’s almost been good for something,” she said.

New album in autumn

Nicole (58) made her breast cancer, which was diagnosed at the end of 2020, public in the summer of 2022 after her recovery. Her family and her faith helped her during the difficult times. “Faith was always my companion. You have to have something to believe in. In the case of recovery and that the Lord God speaks a word of power: Okay, you can live,” said the Catholic.

Nicole, whose full name is Nicole Seibert, is planning a new album for next year. “Other than that, I will continue to work with (singer and songwriter) Heinz Rudolf Kunze.” The album is expected to be released in the fall. “Then we need 13 songs because 13 is my lucky number,” she said.
