The frontman of the band Fury in the Slaughterhouse admits that, even at the age of 63, he still gets “a little” nervous before concerts. He has few problems with his age.

Kai Wingenfelder, singer of the band Fury in the Slaughterhouse, still has stage fright before live performances. “I’m always a little nervous before concerts. Now it’s not quite as bad as it used to be, but if I’m not excited, then it won’t be a good concert,” said the musician in an interview with the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” (NOZ).

When asked how he keeps fit for the stage shows, the 63-year-old jokingly replied: “I look at an orange in the morning – that’s it.” He has two dogs and goes for walks with them. “But I’m not jogging around now. Our concerts usually last about two hours and I can do that easily,” said the musician.

However, he already notices that he is no longer 23. “It’s just stupid that, other than when I look in the mirror or try to play football with my juniors, I often think that I’m not that old yet. My head is still the same.” He tries hard to be as good as he can on stage. “However, I’m not the type of professional youth à la Mick Jagger and I certainly won’t try to jump across the stage when I’m 80 and mark the Luftikus,” said Wingenfelder.

Fury in the Slaughterhouse (“Won’t Forget These Days”) was one of the most successful German bands in the 1990s. The musicians from Hanover broke up in 2008 and got back together in 2017. Her album “Hope” was released in 2023.
