Chips are undoubtedly one of the most popular snacks for young and old, but unfortunately they are often associated with a lot of fat and calories. The healthy alternative? Homemade vegetable chips! If you’re in the mood for creative chips, there are some delicious options to try. For example, you can Zucchini chips with garlic and parmesan prepare. Alternatively, there are pretzel chips with a creamy cheese dip, which create a perfect balance between salty and creamy. Also Pita chips are a great choice, crunchy and versatile, perfect for a variety of dips or as a snack in between.

You need these ingredients for homemade vegetable chips:

  • 1 beetroot
  • 1 parsnip
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp pepper
  • Spices of your choice (e.g. paprika powder, chili powder, curry powder)

Preparing the vegetable chips is very simple:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat.
  2. Clean, wash, peel and cut or slice the beetroot, parsnip and carrot into very thin slices.
  3. Mix olive oil in a bowl with salt, pepper and spices.
  4. Place the vegetable slices in the bowl, mix well and spread on a baking tray lined with baking paper, making sure they do not overlap.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes until crispy. Take the vegetable chips out of the oven and let them cool. Bon appetit!
