The library in Siegertsbrunn is celebrating its reopening this week with cake, coffee and a children’s program – during the future opening hours. After the starting gun on Monday, visitors can now also take a look at the newly renovated premises in the rectory of St. Peter this Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. They were last closed for more than two years, first due to the pandemic and then for renovation work. In the course of this, the concept of the comparatively small library was revised, says city hall spokeswoman Gabriele Wehner. If the offer used to be a cross-section with which one wanted to reach as many citizens as possible, the focus is now on families. Accordingly, many media are available in the Siegertsbrunn library especially for children and parents. “But there is also literature and crime novels for adults,” says Gabriele Wehner. There is also the option of ordering media from the larger library in Höhenkirchen and then picking it up in Siegertsbrunn. “This is primarily intended as a service for older people,” says the city hall spokeswoman. The library in the vicarage will be open on Mondays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The facility in Höhenkirchen, on the other hand, is open three days a week as before – but half an hour longer from June 1st. The new opening hours are Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 10.30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
