Marco Reus hands out free beer to BVB fans as a farewell

A cheerful farewell gift: After his last home game for Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund, Marco Reus surprised the BVB fans in the south stand with free beer.

“Thank you for everything! The farewell beer is on me, your Marco” was written on notes that had been attached to the cash registers at the bar.

“I hope they enjoyed it,” said Reus, who celebrated extensively with the “Yellow Wall” after the 4-0 (2-0) win against Darmstadt 98. “It was fun. When I come back, I will definitely pay the boys a visit,” said the 34-year-old.

For Reus it was the end of an emotional day at the Westfalenstadion. “I’m incredibly grateful for the love that people have shown me over the last few years. I hope I was able to give a little back,” said Reus after his “perfect” day on the pitch with a free-kick goal and preparatory work.

Reus did not want to reveal exactly what his future future would look like. “I want to keep playing. Let’s wait and see,” he said. After all, his time at Borussia isn’t over yet, the big final in the Champions League against Real Madrid still awaits. “Now the focus is on June 1st. After that there will be a decision,” said Reus.
