“Shuna’s Journey”, an early comic work by the great animation artist Hayao Miyazaki, is finally appearing in German.
This story progresses slowly, quite contemplatively; it develops its tension from the inner urges of the young hero Shuna and the vast empty plains through which he has to travel on his search, on his mount, a yakkul. And, in keeping with this rhythm, the images are muted and pale.
