Was Carl XVI. Gustaf in danger? The police had to arrive on the grounds of his residence, Drottningholm Palace.

A moment of horror for the Swedish royal couple Carl XVI. Gustaf (77) and Silvia (79): At their Drottningholm Palace west of Stockholm, two people were apparently picked up by security personnel. According to a Swedish media report, these had violated the security regulations around the royal residence. “Svensk Dam” reported, citing authorities, that police were on site to speak to security forces and the suspects taken into custody.

Carl Gustaf celebrated his throne jubilee in Drottningholm

A lot of celebrities have been guests at the castle in the last few days: In Sweden, the 50th anniversary of King Carl XVI’s throne took place last Friday (September 15th). Gustaf celebrated. Events also took place in Drottningholm that lasted over the weekend. The Swedish king is said to have received prominent guests for dinner at the castle, among other things.

The Swedes also celebrated their throne anniversary with, among other things, a thanksgiving service, an anniversary dinner in the palace, public appearances by the royal family, such as a carriage ride, or an open-air concert at the foot of the palace. There are also special stamps with a portrait of the king in Sweden.

The royal couple has lived in Drottningholm since the 1980s

King Carl XVI Gustaf ascended in 1973 after the death of his grandfather Gustav VI. Adolf (1882-1973) the throne. The father of Carl XVI. Gustaf, Gustav Adolf Hereditary Prince of Sweden (1906-1947), died in a plane crash in Denmark in 1947, when the current king was nine months old.

The royal family has lived in Drottningholm Palace since the early 1980s. The royal couple’s private rooms are located in the south wing of the property. Most parts of the castle and its gardens are open to the public all year round.
