Shortage of skilled workers: companies present themselves at the fair in Vaterstetten – Ebersberg

Anyone who is still looking for an apprenticeship or wants to find out more about the possibilities of working life should come to the triple gymnasium of the primary and middle school in Vaterstetten on Saturday, November 5th. The job fair of the communities of Vaterstetten and Haar takes place there from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is aimed primarily at students, but also at people with professional experience who are looking for new professional challenges or changes. Admission is free.

According to the announcement from the two town halls, around 40 regional companies will be represented at the fair. The variety of industries ranges from technology and medicine to IT to manual and commercial professions. Several companies even offer dual studies. A list of the participating companies and authorities can be found on the municipality’s website fatherstetten and hair.

The background is the great shortage of skilled workers in the region

The idea for the job fair came about in the Vaterstettener economic advisory board, the committee was founded this year and is intended to promote the trade in the community and to network the companies better with each other. A problem, not in the region, is the lack of skilled workers, which was an issue at the first meeting in July, according to the town hall of Vaterstetten. The companies would have wished for support from the municipalities.

Conversely, it is not always easy for young people to find out where which companies are based, what the local companies do and whether they offer any training positions at all. Therefore, the economic development in the town hall of Vaterstetten contacted the schools in the municipality with the aim of achieving a joint approach to promoting careers. Because schools, municipalities and companies have already been active in this area, but all for themselves.

There is also a joint approach with the neighboring municipality in the district of Munich, the job fair should only be the first of its kind and will in future take place in the annual alternation between Vaterstetten and Haar. The two mayors are convinced that the new offer will be well received. “The lead time wasn’t great, but the feedback from local companies shows us that we’re knocking on open doors,” says Leonhard Spitzauer (CSU), head of the town hall at Vaterstetten. “With the job fair, we bring companies and job seekers together directly – it doesn’t get any better than that,” adds his party colleague and colleague from Haar, Andreas Bukowski.
