An incident occurred on the set of the western “Rust” in which camera operator Halyna Hutchins was killed. Now her husband speaks – and finds harsh words for Hollywood star Alec Baldwin.

The widower of the shot camerawoman Halyna Hutchins sharply criticized Hollywood star Alec Baldwin in a television interview.

After the fatal incident while filming the western “Rust”, Baldwin presented himself as a victim, said Matthew Hutchins in a published interview with the broadcaster NBC. “I think the idea that the person holding the gun and causing the shot is not responsible is absurd,” the widower continued. Numerous safety regulations were grossly disregarded during the shoot.

Baldwin denies guilt

Baldwin said in an ABC interview in December that he was not responsible for what happened. He held the gun but didn’t pull the trigger. He has “no idea” how the live ammunition found its way into the gun.

In the deadly shooting incident at a film ranch in Santa Fe, chief camerawoman Hutchins (42) was fatally injured on October 21 and director Joel Souza was hit in the shoulder. Baldwin, who serves as lead actor and producer on the film, had operated the gun in rehearsal for one scene. Investigations revealed that the Colt had a real bullet in it. Police investigations into how this happened are ongoing.

The relatives of the Ukrainian-American camerawoman filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Baldwin and other film participants in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in mid-February. Hutchins is survived by husband Matthew and a nine-year-old son.
