The accused Nuradi A. received a youth sentence of 5 years. The district court in Münster found the 20-year-old man guilty of bodily harm resulting in death and ordered him to be placed in a rehabilitation center.
The native Chechen had confessed in the process of hitting the transman with a fist at Christopher Street Day in Münster. The victim died as a result of hitting the ground.
No intent to kill
According to the public prosecutor’s office, the accused had no intent to kill. The adolescent was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crime. The appraiser had explained that the young man had his stroke but “safely placed” and no memory gaps.

The defense attorney said the 20-year-old attacked the trans man to ward off his own homosexual feelings. If the accused is homosexual, he could prevent an impending deportation to Chechnya, which is considered homophobic.
