Three young people have been sentenced to several years in prison for attempted murder by the Bayreuth district court. According to the court, the then 15-year-old defendants had jointly attacked and robbed a man sleeping on an outdoor bench in Kulmbach one night in September 2021. “In the course of the crime, the victim suffered life-threatening injuries. The accused then left the scene with their loot without helping the victim,” the court said on Thursday. The main perpetrator was sentenced to a youth sentence of six years for, among other things, attempted murder, dangerous bodily harm and particularly serious robbery. The youth chamber imposed sentences of three years and eight months and three years and six months on the other two defendants. They were convicted of, among other things, attempted cover-up murder by omission, robbery and dangerous bodily harm. The verdict was made on Wednesday and is not yet final. The court did not provide any further details, citing the interests of the juvenile defendants that were worthy of protection.
