Three arrests, according to the police

Among the rare signs, one proclaimed “climate and social emergency”, while the demonstrators chanted their favorite song: “we are here, even if Macron does not want it, we are here”. The route was marred by a few clashes during which the police used their batons, according to videos posted by the demonstrators on social networks. Police reported three arrests.

The movement of “yellow vests”, born in the fall of 2018 against the policy of Emmanuel Macron and against the high cost of living, has not been very active in recent months. A year ago, the Parisian demonstration marking their third anniversary had gathered 1,800 people, according to the police.
