The relief intervened in number Tuesday at the end of the day in a shopping mall located in the town of Fougères (Ille-et-Vilaine). Around 7 p.m., a strong smell and significant smoke emissions were reported on the construction site of a bakery which is due to open at the end of the month.
The seventeen workers present on the site were intoxicated by the fumes. Nine of them were transported to the Fougères hospital center to undergo additional examinations. According to the firefighters, the start-up of an industrial furnace for tests would be the source of these fumes.
