Nobody has to worry about dangerous fire gases anymore, said a fire department spokesman on Saturday when asked. The warning was also withdrawn in the Nina-Warnapp. On Saturday afternoon, the extinguishing work continued – fires continued to flare up in the rubble of the building. The spokesman explained that this would keep the fire brigade busy all day. However, there is no longer any smoke spread. Three floors have collapsed and there are still burns at the bottom of the building.

Cloud of smoke over Berlin

The fire broke out on Friday morning. A technical room on the first floor of a factory building burned completely. According to the information, all people were able to leave the place independently. A huge cloud of smoke had formed over the west of the capital, and it was now said that substances hazardous to health had formed in the immediate vicinity of the scene of the fire. Residents were advised to keep their windows closed. The cloud of smoke that drifted over the city center was not a cause for concern.

According to the Diehl spokesman, it is an electroplating company that produces, among other things, car parts. Small amounts of copper cyanide and sulfuric acid were stored in the hall. According to the fire department, toxic hydrogen cyanide may have formed during the fire. However, no increased values were measured near people.

The Diehl Group is a large arms company that also supplies weapons to Ukraine. This sparked speculation in the media and social networks. However, the company spokesman said that no military equipment was produced at the Berlin factory.
