Last night another live event called “The Big Bang” took place in Fortnite, which marked the end of Chapter 4 and the popular OG season. As with every season change, developer Epic Games has temporarily taken all of the game’s servers offline. They have no longer been accessible since around 5:30 a.m. German time. An official end to this maintenance work has not yet been announced. The latest update for Fortnite has the official version number v28.00 and is around 22 GB in size on the Playstation 5. The update can be downloaded from approximately 9:00 a.m. German time.
Because of this, Fortnite’s server downtime probably won’t last too long. However, things didn’t go smoothly during yesterday’s event. Many players and Epic themselves reported massive technical problems during the “The Big Bang” event. That’s why it was repeated at 5:00 a.m. The servers were then taken offline. The upcoming Chapter 5 will feature a new map as well as new game modes.
One of the most important innovations in Chapter 5 is a train on the map that travels to different locations along its route and provides loot for the players. Other locations on the map will be called Hazy Hillside, Grand Glacier Hotel and Ritzy Riviera. Epic Games also announced that cars can now be cosmetically customized with new bodies. Of course, there will also be new weapons and items called Ballistic Shield, Hammer Punpgun, Nemesis Rifle, Hyper Maxhine Pistol, Grab Blade and Cluster Sticky Grenade.
