Japanese author Kōtarō Isaka’s novel “Seesaw Monster” is being adapted into a Netflix film. Hathaway and Hayek are on board as leads and producers.

Brad Pitt (58) recently played a hitman in “Bullet Train”, based on a novel by Kōtarō Isaka – now another story by the Japanese author is to be filmed with Anne Hathaway (39) and Salma Hayek (56).

Netflix has secured the filming rights to Seesaw Monster. Oscar winner Hathaway (“Les Misérables”) and Hayek (“Frida”, “Eternals”) are on board as leading actresses and producers, the streaming service announced.

Accordingly, in the action comedy they play two rivals who are forced to stick together. Olivia Milch (“Ocean’s Eight”) is writing the screenplay. Hayek has already demonstrated her talent for action in films such as “Desperado” or “Killer’s Bodyguard”, Hathaway in “The Dark Knight Rises” or “Ocean’s Eight”.

“Bullet Train” (2022), based on Isaka’s best-selling novel “Maria Beetle”, is set on a Japanese bullet train where several assassins meet. Brad Pitt played the killer Ladybug in it, directed by David Leitch. It was not initially known who was to stage “Seesaw Monster”.
