Exciting personnel decision at the FDP in Bavaria: Susanne Seehofer, daughter of the former Bavarian Prime Minister and CSU Chairman Horst Seehofer, will be running for a state parliament mandate for the FDP in autumn 2023. In an internal party vote for the direct candidacy in the Munich-Mitte constituency, Seehofer prevailed against three opposing candidates on Sunday evening. According to FDP information, she received the necessary absolute majority of votes in the first ballot. Seehofer joined the FDP some time ago, where she is now deputy chairwoman of the FDP Munich. It is not the first time in the recent past that the daughter of a well-known CSU politician or a well-known CSU politician has been drawn to political competition. For a number of years, Claudia Stamm, daughter of the former President of the Landtag, Barbara Stamm, represented the Greens in the Landtag.
