Second trunk route: Ministry wants to keep critical Court of Auditors report secret – Bavaria

Bavaria’s Ministry of Transport keeps a report from the Supreme Audit Office on the billion-euro disaster at the Munich S-Bahn under lock and key. In the event of publication, one could “restrict or refuse” cooperation with the supervisory body. The opposition complained that this was “outrageous”.

It starts with 2.2.2. and ends at 11.15. A total of 19 chapters from a test report on the billion-euro disaster involving the expansion of the Munich S-Bahn must remain secret. At least that’s what the Ministry of Transport in Bavaria, headed by Christian Bernreiter (CSU), wants. The ministry has therefore urgently warned the Bavarian Supreme Court of Auditors (ORH) not to let the public know anything about the test results for the construction of the second S-Bahn trunk line in Munich. The new tunnel route costs several billion euros more and will be completed much later than originally planned. This also makes Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) difficult to create. Early on, he and his government knew a lot about the long-looming debacle and did little about it.
