The Amazon Prime Series “Sebastian Fitzek’s “The Therapy” is already a huge success worldwide in its launch week. As the streaming provider announced, the book adaptation climbed straight to the top of the Prime Video charts in Germany and Austria after it was broadcast on October 26th. Internationally, it made it The German series also made it into the top ten lists in more than 30 countries – including the USA, Spain, France and Turkey.

The series is based on the first major bestseller “The Therapy” by the Berlin writer Sebastian Fitzek (52) from 2006. For Fitzek it is also the first series film adaptation of some of his other books, such as “Passenger 23 – Disappeared on high seas”, there are already individual films.

“Sebastian Fitzek’s The Therapy” consists of six episodes and is available in over 240 countries. The 52-year-old appears overwhelmed on Instagram: “If someone had told me 17 years ago that my first psychological thriller would one day be filmed so spectacularly, I would never have believed it. I’m excited and hope you love the implementation as much as I do I”, he wrote at the start and also shared the trailer for the Prime series.

That’s what the series is about

The thirteen-year-old daughter (Helena Zengel) of the well-known psychiatrist Viktor Larenz (Stephan Kampwirth) disappears without a trace. There are no witnesses or clues. Viktor retreats to a remote holiday home. After two years, he receives a visit from an unknown woman named Anna (Emma Bading), who is tormented by delusions. A little girl appears to her in it, who disappears without a trace just as Josy once did. Viktor begins therapy with Anna, which increasingly becomes a dramatic game of cat and mouse.
