Missing five-year-old: 1,000 people attend silent march
A little boy has been missing in Saarbrücken since Monday. While police search efforts have been halted, many people are publicly concerned.
In Saarbrücken around 1000 people gathered together Silent march for the five-year-old boy who has been missing since Monday. The march started around 4:30 p.m., a police spokesman said. A video on Facebook showed people – many wearing white T-shirts – moving at a slow pace and holding up balloons and search posters.
Meanwhile, the police search measures were stopped on Friday evening, the spokesman said. The police are now primarily reacting to incoming information. An investigative group is currently trying to develop new approaches for further search measures.
The five-year-old disappeared on Monday evening while visiting a playground with his family near the Saar. According to police, the child is autistic and unable to speak. When it meets unknown people, it often runs away. The five-year-old was said to have been walking barefoot at the time of his disappearance.
