The vaccination scandal in Schortens (district of Friesland) is expanding. The Ministry of Social Affairs, the district and the police have informed the public about the extent at a press conference in Jever.
“It is about a total of 8,557 people who may have received no vaccination protection in whole or in part, although they assume so,” said Friesland’s District Administrator Sven Ambrosy (SPD) in Jever on Tuesday. The affected people would now be written to by the district to catch up on the possibly missing vaccinations. In addition, is a free phone number switched. Those affected are said to be above all people over 70 years old who visited the Friesland vaccination center in Schortens-Roffhausen between March 5 and April 20. An employee of the Friesland vaccination center is said to have injected saline solution instead of vaccines. “We have well-founded suspicions of danger,” said Peter Beer, deputy head of the Wilhelmshaven / Friesland police station, at the press conference.

On April 21, it became known that the suspect employee had injected six people with table salt instead of Biontech active ingredients. The woman wanted to cover up the fact that her ampoules had fallen off. The number of those affected grew. 22 people received the vaccination in May. In the meantime, the police determined that the woman had shared corona-critical texts on social media. The specialist commissioner for politically motivated crime took over the investigation. According to NDR information, the accused should remain silent about the new allegations.
