Schleswig-Holstein – Dane Madsen becomes Minister – Politics

The mayor of Rostock, Claus Ruhe Madsen, is to become economics minister in the future black-green state government in Schleswig-Holstein. Prime Minister Daniel Günther confirmed this on Monday at the state party conference of the CDU, where the party also approved the coalition agreement with the Greens. The 49-year-old non-party Dane Madsen does not yet have German citizenship. Werner Schwarz is to become Minister for Agriculture, Europe and Consumer Protection, as Günther announced in Neumünster. Schwarz, 62, was previously President of the State Farmers’ Association. Kerstin von der Decken (CDU) is to take over the Ministry of Justice and Health. The lawyer, 53, previously held the chair for public law at the University of Kiel and is a member of the state government’s Corona Expert Council.
