Leipzig – Wendler’s comeback appointment didn’t last long.
The organizers of the “Schlager unter Palmen” festival canceled the event in Crete yesterday. Reason: Because hit star Michael Wendler (51) was also part of the line-up, there had been massive protests.
Organizer René Ulbrich (45) on Instagram: “Hate and hate comments as well as insulting messages hit me personally.”
Not the only problem: the singers Ross Antony (49) and Julian David (33) had withdrawn their participation because they did not want to be associated with Wendler. The musician was criticized during the Corona period for the spread of conspiracy theories.
With the appearance at the festival, Wendler wanted to herald his comeback tour. This is also organized by Ulbricht. Why didn’t he just remove Wendler from the line-up? Wendler and Ulbricht did not respond to a BILD request.
It’s not the first time projects by Michael Wendler be cancelled.
The controversial singer is repeatedly criticized for his strange conspiracy theories, debt stories or spicy OnlyFans posts.
Most recently there was an uprising against the planned production of the RTL documentary about Wendler and his then pregnant wife Laura Mueller (22) given. The series was eventually canceled.
