The failed passenger car toll from ex-transport minister Andreas Scheuer (CSU) is costing German taxpayers dearly. After years of legal disputes, the operators planned for the project and the federal government have agreed on compensation of 243 million euros for the prestige project of the CSU, which was never realized. The Kapsch company announced this sum on Wednesday in a mandatory stock exchange announcement.
