Schalke – Fürth: Chaos threatens! Fans need strong nerves

If you want to go to FC Schalke 04, you need strong nerves – this time even before kick-off. At the game between Schalke and Fürth (Friday, December 15th, 6:30 p.m.), fans are threatened with chaos.

The kick-off time, which is thankless for stadium goers, regularly results in full streets and annoyed fans around the arena. At Schalke – Fürth, a complete motorway closure threatens to put an end to arriving traffic. A collapse seems almost impossible to prevent.

Schalke – Fürth: Traffic collapse threatens

Friday, 6.30 p.m. – not a pleasant kick-off time for stadium visitors. If you want to go to the FC Schalke 04 home game, you have to leave work on time and usually drive directly to the arena. And because this affects a lot of Schalke players, the streets around the stadium are becoming increasingly crowded.

While the fan journey is pleasantly extended on weekend days, it is usually compressed into a few hours for Friday games. Already against Kiel (0:2), Elversberg (1:2) and Osnabrück (4:0) there were traffic jams everywhere – especially on the A2, A40 and A42 motorways. This disaster threatens to get even worse against Fürth.

Complete motorway closure at S04 home game

For the upcoming weekend, the A42 between Bottrop-Süd and Essen-Nord will be completely closed in both directions. This means that all fans from the western Ruhr area will lose a central connection to the FC Schalke 04 stadium. The alternative routes are becoming even more crowded.

If you want to be in your seat for kick-off at Schalke – Fürth, you should arrive as early as possible. At least, if that is even possible for professional reasons. Or geographically, because not every FC Schalke 04 fan comes from the Ruhr area and the surrounding area.
